Main title image for Kalos' fall sermon series, "Make Room"
Make Room is the latest sermon series at Kalos Church. Taking a literal approach to the title, the main image was designed as an architectual model. The entire service at Kalos is themed with art derived from the main image to create a cohesive image.
After the initial model was created, I ran it through Arnold's toon shader to create architectural blueprints.
A parallel camera was used to create a flat perspective
It took roughly 30 hours to model all the buildings from downtown Seattle proper (excludes Belltown, South Lake Union, and Pioneer Square)

All models were hand crafted in 3d - not extracted from any other source. Also, check out that file structure..

Since I frequently create framed art in client and personal art, I decided to design a rig that allowed me to quickly alter its dimensions.

AI art was used to explore what an architect's office might look like. Elements like lighting, room size, and position of items helped reduce decision fatigue and accelerated production.
While researching how architecture models were created, I stumbled on Eric W. Reinholdt's Youtube channel "30x40 Design Workshop." I enjoyed his aesthetic so much that several elements are directly pulled from his videos.

The blueprints were unrolled with a spline wrap on a spline that was animated via the displacer deformer
The wood planks were in a cloner set to form along a spline that was animated
